B U S Y Is A Four Letter Word

May 9, 2009

Students come into my office, look at my desk and say, "I see you're busy". All day long they do that. I must hear the word 'busy' at least 25 times a day. I always say to them, "yes, but I'm not too busy to talk to you."

I am busy...we are all busy! So what are you busy with? What takes your time and what does your busyness keep you from doing? How do you keep balance in your busy days?

It appears Spring has come, at least for a few intermittent days. Soon the sun will be lasting longer than a few peeks through the clouds or a day here and there. What do you need to clear from your calendar or organize better to have some extra time for the people and things that mean the most to you?

Here are a couple 'free' ideas to give you some extra time...

~ Just say 'no' - what can you say 'no' to? If you can't think of anything then rephrase the question to yourself..."if I say 'no' to this what am I then able to say 'yes' to?

~ If you are being asked to do 'one more thing' ask yourself this question, "Am I filling a request or meeting a need? If you answer that with "meeting a need" clearly define the 'need'.

Everything we do for God is good but not everything we do for Him is what He wants us to do. Sit still, clear your mind and ask God what it is He would have you do.

Enjoy the sun/Son,
